Product Overview
BCIP (5-Bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl Phosphate, Disodium Salt) is a widely used chromogenic substrate for alkaline phosphatase (AP). After enzymatic hydrolysis by alkaline phosphatase, BCIP produces an insoluble blue-colored precipitate, allowing sensitive visualization of target proteins and nucleic acids.
BCIP is commonly used alone or together with NBT (Nitro Blue Tetrazolium) to enhance signal intensity. It is extensively applied in Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA, Southern blotting, Northern blotting and in situ hybridization.
